School Stream: Troubleshooting / Help

Having problems with your School Stream app? Try these troubleshooting steps.

Remove Content from School Stream

You can archive content in the app by swiping left on any content item on the home screen, then select Archive.

You can access your archived content by opening the slide-in menu and choosing Archive.

You can recover archived content by opening it from the archive.

Windows Phone / Other Devices

While we don’t have a native Windows Phone app, we have developed a mobile-optimised web version for other mobile devices.

Contact your school for your web link, and follow these instructions:

To pin a website on your Windows Phone:

  • Open the website you want to pin
  • Tap More icon, then tap Pin to Start

You will be able to access all of your school’s information, however, you won’t be able to receive notifications.

Other Issues

If your issue is not covered above, try each of the following until your issue is resolved.

Update your app to the latest version

iPhone / iPad iOS

  1. From your mobile device go to the App Store
  2. Touch the UPDATES button in the bottom right
  3. If School Stream is in the listings (you may need to scroll), touch the UPDATE button to the right of School Stream (if it isn’t listed, you’re up to date)

Android / Tablet

  1. From your mobile device go to the Play Store
  2. Open the menu (Either slide right or touch the hamburger menu icon)
  3. Go to My Apps
  4. If School Stream is in the listings (you may need to scroll), touch School Stream (if it isn’t listed, you’re up to date)
  5. Touch the UPDATE button
  6. Touch ACCEPT if prompted

Clear Data

iPhone / iPad

  1. From your mobile device go to School Stream
  2. Open the menu (Either slide right or touch the hamburger menu icon)
  3. Touch SETTINGS
  4. Touch CLEAR DATA
  5. Touch the CLEAR ALL button
  6. Touch the DONE button

Android / Tablet

  1. From your mobile device go to School Stream
  2. Open the menu (Either slide right or touch the hamburger menu icon)
  3. Touch SETTINGS
  4. Touch CLEAR DATA
  5. Touch the OK button

Touch SETTINGS or touch your BACK BUTTON

Delete and Re-install School Stream

iPhone / iPad

  1. From your mobile device, find the School Stream icon
  2. Touch and hold the School Stream icon until the icon vibrates
  3. Touch the cross in the top-left corner of the icon
  4. Touch DELETE
  5. Follow the instructions on the Download page

Android / Tablet

  1. Go to your device’s SETTINGS menu
  2. Go to Apps or Application manager (this may differ depending on your device)
  3. Find and touch School Stream
  4. Touch UNINSTALL
  5. Follow the instructions on the Download page

Reset Notification Settings (iPhone/iPad)

If you are not receiving notifications, or you accidentally chose not to receive them when you installed the app, you can reset your School Stream notifications by following these instructions from Apple.

Issues installing from the App Store (iPhone/iPad)

Due to content being published by schools (i.e. people outside our company), Apple restricts our app to the 17+ age category. This can cause the Get / Install button to be disabled. You can temporarily change your restrictions (Settings > General > Restrictions) long enough to download the app, and change them back.
